JUST IN:Watch as Los Angeles Rams and Quidel Ortho Team Up for a Winning STEAM Event………

Over 600 middle school students from Inglewood and Compton recently gathered at SoFi Stadium for the inaugural STEAM event hosted in partnership with the Los Angeles Rams and Quidel Ortho. The students toured the 3.1-million-square-foot venue to gain exclusive access to how science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) drive one of the facilities.

Rams legend Isaiah Johnson brought his infectious energy to the activities. While touring alongside the students, Johnson noted their enthusiasm and shared interests.

Today was the first STEAM experience that Ortho led, and it was fun, fun, fun!” he said. “They told me about their involvement in STEAM programs at their schools, including robotics and drone technology.”

During the tour, students explored various features at SoFi Stadium, from its expansive field and locker rooms to the 360-degree Infinity Screen by Samsung. They also delved into the innovative engineering, sustainable design, and creative art installations at the venue. Reflecting on the experience, Johnson added, “This is a state-of-the-art stadium, second to none.”

Erin Bijas, Senior Manager of Global Marketing at Quidel Ortho, also expressed her excitement about the event.

To get to see these students from two different areas of Southern California experience how STEAM comes to life here has been incredible,” she said. “Introducing Quidel Ortho and the opportunities we have within STEAM has been a dream come true.”

Quidel Ortho, a leader in medical diagnostics, partnered with the Rams to create this impactful initiative. The event aimed to ignite curiosity and break down barriers to entry into STEAM fields.

“You don’t need a medical degree or nine years of schooling to work in STEAM,” Bijas explained. “There are so many ways STEAM integrates into industries like sports and medical diagnostics. It’s been life-changing to see their eyes light up.”

Beyond technical lessons, the event carried a broader message of empowerment.

“I want students to know that anything is possible when you think differently and ask questions,” Bijas emphasized. “The world is their oyster, and events like these get them excited about what their futures can look like.”

This partnership between Quidel Ortho and the Rams is vital in creating meaningful opportunities for young people. By blending education and entertainment in a world-class setting, this event demonstrated that STEAM is a pathway to endless possibilities.
