Ohio State Dealt Major Transfer Portal Blow Days Before Cotton Bowl.

With back-to-back dominating wins over No. 9 Tennessee and No. 1 Oregon, the Ohio State Buckeyes are arguably the hottest team left in the College Football Playoff.

And with a big CFP semifinal matchup on Friday against No. 5 Texas in the Cotton Bowl, Ohio State was dealt a pretty significant blow days before with two players announcing they were entering the NCAA transfer portal.

The Buckeyes have already seen 10 players hit the transfer portal since last month — quarterbacks Air Noland and Devin Brown, wide receivers Jayden Ballard and Kojo Antwi, offensive tackles George Fitzpatrick, Zen Michalski and Miles Walker, linebacker Gabe Powers, safety Jayden Bonsu and long-snapper Collin Johnson — and now linebacker Mitchell Melton and tight end Patrick Gurd have joined them.
