BREAKING:See why Cowboys fans launch an online campaign against hiring former backup QB Kellen Moore as the new head coach……
Kellen Moore has entered the spotlight as the Dallas Cowboysramp up their search for a new head coach to replace Mike McCarthy. The Cowboys requested permission from the Eagles to interview Moore, who currently serves as Philadelphia’s offensive coordinator. After receiving approval, Moore completed a virtual interview on Friday.
Once a backup QB for Dallas, Moore rose quickly through coaching ranks, becoming offensive coordinator in 2019. Despite leaving after the 2022 season due to schematic differences with McCarthy, his ties to the Cowboys remain strong, including his work with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. Moore is a strong contender for the job.
However, Cowboys fans, or at least a good number of them, are not excited about the idea of Moore being the new head coach of Dallas. They have made their feelings known on social media through the hashtag #NoKellenMoore. The movement has gained momentum in recent days, even starting before Moore had his virtual interview with Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones, and the Cowboys’ upper management on Friday.
Moore faces strong opposition from Cowboys fans
While some have posted phrases like “We don’t want Kellen Moore” on X (formerly Twitter), others even raised prayers that the interview wouldn’t take place. “Lord, if you’re listening, please let the internet fail today and prevent this virtual interview with Kellen Moore,” one person posted. Another fan reminded everyone that several Hall of Fame members had spoken out against Moore’s system when he was the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator.
Other fans recalled that it was Kellen Moore who called the disastrous plays that marked the Cowboys’ playoff games against the San Francisco 49ers: Dak Prescott’s unexplainable run without timeouts that ended with the game clock expiring in 2021, and the infamous “snap” from Ezekiel Elliott to Prescott in the final seconds of the 2022 game.
