The Philadelphia Eagles won their second Super Bowl in franchise history in a 40-22 domination of the two-time defending Kansas City Chiefs. They were led by former Oklahoma and Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts, who earned the first Super Bowl Championship of his NFL career. For his performance in the win, Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP.

Hurts spoke with Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews after the game to share his thoughts on what it meant to be a Super Bowl Champion.

“God is good,” Hurts said. “He’s great in all the highs and lows. Personally, I’ve been able to use every experience and learn from it. The good, the bad, all of it, using it as fuel to pursue my own greatness. And I think I couldn’t do any of these things without the guys around me. We got a special group this year. We were able to learn from the past and get some nice new pieces and get over the hump.”

Hurts was great, but “I think No. 1, defense wins championships. Defense wins championships. We saw how they played today. We saw the difference they made in the game. They gave us opportunities, gave us short fields and we were able to do what we do.”

He finished the interview reflecting on what it meant to win it all after falling short two years ago against the Chiefs. “Still processing it, but I can’t wait to enjoy this with my family and… soak it in.”

During the Super Bowl MVP presentation, Hurts spoke with Fox Sports Terry Bradshaw. Bradshaw asked what it meant to silence the people that doubted Hurts ability to win a Super Bowl.

“God is good,” Hurts said. “Couldn’t be there without my teammates. The effort, the determination that everyone displayed to get to this point. It’s never been about what anyone else does; it’s always been about what we do.”
