Jevon Holland sends strong message to Dolphins as he enters free agency……..Read more
The Miami Dolphins had a disappointing season in which they failed to get to the playoffs in a year that was highlighted by a long list of injuries.
The NFL offseason is in full swing as most of the players are either enjoying a little time off, getting ready for next season or trying to line up where they will be playing next season. Jevon Holland is one of those players wondering where he will playing, and over the last few days those questions are ringing a little louder.
Valentine’s Day shade thrown?
Holland, who has spent the last four seasons in Miami, is a free agent and coming off of what could be considered his worst year. As we approach the free-agent negotiating window on March 10th, the safety seems to be reading into the Dolphins social media posts to get a read on what their plans with him are for next season.
On the Breakin’ House Rules podcast, he referenced a Valentine’s Day post in which the social media team made cards to their fans with pictures of Dolphins players with puns that included those players names. Holland was not included in the post, and has read into and into the minds of the front office members in Miami.
Holland has 301 tackles, five forced fumbles and five interceptions, one of those being a pick-six in his first four years. Despite a down year, he should be in line to get a nice new contract whether that be in Miami or somewhere else around the league, and Holland says he’s excited about what’s to come.
“I’m excited. It’s already going into Year 5,” he said. “Just kind of crazy. I’m 24, about to be 25, it’s dope. It’s almost surreal, you know, stepping into another organization — or same organization — we still don’t know. But say I do go to another place, going from Oregon to Miami, it’s kind of like, I only know those two.”
