“My connection with Cristiano Ronaldo started with a fight during the national team. We were playing a friendly match between Brazil and Portugal, and I kept committing fouls against him because he was just too quick. He responded with an elbow and grabbed me by the neck.

I tried to retaliate, but he was just too tall… After the match, I was informed that Real Madrid would sign him within two months. I thought to myself: ‘Okay, I need to escape from Madrid.’ But, fortunately, everything turned out well,” Marcelo stated to TMW.
