JUST IN:Billie Eilish Makes History As ‘Birds Of A Feather’ Continues Flying High…….Read more
In just a few weeks, Billie Eilish’s latest album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, will turn one year old. The singer-songwriter isn’t actively pushing new singles from the project, but that’s not keeping the American public from continuing to consume both the full-length and a number of tunes — and one in particular in huge numbers.
“Birds of a Feather” remains the top track from Hit Me Hard and Soft months after it was pushed as a single. The tune isn’t just performing well — it’s running the show on multiple rankings in the U.S.
Birds of a Feather” is Steady at No. 1
Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” is steady at No. 1 on this week’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, as it keeps its first-place position on the list of the most-consumed rock and alternative tunes throughout the U.S. The smash earns a new spot in the history books and proves both its incredible popularity and Eilish’s ability to craft a hit the world can’t get enough of.
Billie Eilish’s New Spot in the History Books
“Birds of a Feather” has now ruled the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart for 30 weeks. Only six tracks in the history of the Billboard tally have managed to run the show for that long, and Eilish’s tune is in fantastic company.
As it reaches its milestone thirtieth turn at No. 1, “Birds of a Feather” ties with two other smashes as the fourth-longest-leading single in the history of the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs ranking. As of this period, Eilish’s cut is matched with Twenty One Pilots’ “Heathens” and “I Remember Everything” by Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves, both of which held on at No. 1 for 30 weeks as well.
Panic! at the Disco’s Incredible Record
Panic! At the Disco’s “High Hopes” remains the longest-running champion in the history of the rock and alternative songs tally, as it dominated the chart for 65 frames during its heyday. No other tune has come even close to repeating that sum.
The Longest-Running Rock No. 1s in U.S. History
In between Panic! At the Disco and the grouping of Twenty One Pilots, Musgraves, Bryan, and Eilish, come two other beloved tracks that made history during their initial runs. Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” stayed at No. 1 for 37 weeks, while “Mood” by 24kGoldn and Iann Dior ruled for 35.
The Second Life of “Birds of a Feather”
Just when it looked like it was possible that “Birds of a Feather” might begin declining on the charts, Eilish chose to highlight it during the 2025 Grammy Awards. She performed the single during the telecast, backed by a beautiful visual display, and it seems that the showing has helped the song remain in the public consciousness for at least several more weeks — if not longer.
