Ohio State football picks up commitment from four-star offensive tackle Sam Greer
Ohio State has received a verbal commitment from Sam Greer, a four-star offensive tackle from Akron.
He is the No. 188 overall prospect and No. 17 tackle in the recruiting class for 2026, according to composite rankings from 247Sports.
Greer, who picked the Buckeyes over a handful of Southeastern Conference schools, including Florida, Missouri and Tennessee, was at their latest spring practice Tuesday when he made his pledge.
He’s the second offensive lineman to commit to the Buckeyes since Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen was hired as the position coach to replace Justin Frye last month.
Greer followed Maxwell Riley, a four-star offensive tackle from Avon Lake who committed two weeks ago. Both are the highest-ranked offensive linemen in Ohio in their class.
With his size, Greer projects as a prototypical tackle. Multiple recruiting services list him around 6 feet 7 and more than 300 pounds. He attends Archbishop Hoban High School.
