The Bulldogs were physical early, with a couple of solid hits in the first 90 seconds. Colin Winn made a good early save to keep it scoreless, before the Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead when Wyatt Davis one-timed home an end-board bounce before the game was four minutes old.

The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead just five seconds into a power play chance inside of five minutes into the second, as Caden Tremblay put a wrist shot on goal that deflected off an Eagle and in. Surrey would respond later in the frame, on a power play of their own as Yuchan Kong scored on a cross-ice one-timer to make it 2-1 heading into the third.

The Bulldogs would hold the lead into the final minute, with Colin Winn making a huge save with his left toe off of Ryan Evenhuis with under a minute to play. Brady McIsaac would block a point shot, then chip the puck out and chase it down and hit the empty net on a second opportunity with under 20 seconds to play to seal the deal and make it a 3-1 final.

Shots were 35-28 Eagles, with Colin Winn earning 2nd star honours with the victory while Jaiden Sharma took the loss. Each side went 1 for 2 on the power play.

The teams meet again tomorrow night in Surrey, a 6:00pm start.
