Angel Reese Leaves No Doubt About Her Opinion of A’ja Wilson

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has the highest respect for Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson. If that is not obvious in her latest Wall Street Journal interview, she made it abundantly clear on social media.

In an interview with the WSJ, Reese opened up about Wilson’s influence on her and how much the three-time WNBA MVP inspires her. The Sky youngster shared that Wilson has “been joyful” to her and is somebody that would be there for her whenever she calls.

“I just love being able to see a woman in sports that thrives through everything,” Reese said of Wilson. “And just knowing that it wasn’t an easy journey for her, it has never been an easy journey for me.

“So just being able to look up to her and look at her, and see, like, that’s where I want to be one day—just thrive and walk in her footsteps, because she’s laid the ground for me to be able to do that. She’s been nothing but an inspiration to me, she’s been joyful to me, she’s always been somebody that I could call and be there for me. I just love that about her.”

To double down on how much she admires Wilson, however, Reese also took to Instagram to share what she feels about the Aces star.

While sharing the photo she and Wilson took together for the WSJ interview, Reese called the Aces star “The GOAT.”

For what it’s worth, it’s not the first time Angel Reese has called A’ja Wilson the “GOAT.” Earlier in the 2024 WNBA season, the Sky All-Star reacted when Wilson did an IG photodump that included a photo of her.

“Omgg i made the goats dumppp,” Reese wrote in the comments section.

Sure enough, Reese has made it pretty clear how much she looks up to Wilson.

Aside from her MVP wins, Wilson is a two-time champion, one-time Finals MVP, two-time Defensive Player of the Year and six-time All-Star. This 2024 campaign, she also became the first WNBA player to eclipse 1000 points in a single season.

With how she has dominated so far, there’s no denying that Wilson has a case for the GOAT title.
