Angel Reese Trending After Jayson Tatum’s NBA Finals Message
Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese is trending after the Boston Celtics won the NBA Finals
The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to win their 18th championship. Now with the most titles in league history, Boston overtakes the Los Angeles Lakers for the top spot.
While he lost the Finals MVP awards to his teammate Jaylen Brown, Celtics star Jayson Tatum was fantastic in this closeout game, finishing with 31 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds. Many feel he should have won the award, but as Tatum said several times, he was just concerned with winning a championship.
Speaking on the ESPN broadcast after the game, Tatum asked, “What are they gonna say now?”
Tatum is not the first basketball star to use the phrase after winning a championship, as fans quickly recognized it from Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese’s message after winning the national championship at LSU:
The phrase was also used by Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry after his championship and Finals MVP in 2022. While nobody expected Angel Reese to trend after the NBA Finals, Tatum’s message has the Sky rookie all over social media, as she also used that exact phrase after becoming a champion.
Reese has been in the media a lot lately, especially since her latest battle with Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. Indiana defeated Chicago in that game, but Reese finished with a double-double in the loss.
As she continues her rise to WNBA superstardom, Reese is getting mentioned more and more, including on social media after the NBA Finals.
