Navigating Uncertainty: Marcus Domask’s Journey from Undrafted to NBA Hopeful

After going undrafted — as expected — in the 2024 Draft, the former Illini star signed an Exhibit-10 deal with the Chicago Bulls.

An Exhibit-10 contract is a way for teams to bring in players to compete in training camp. The contract is not guaranteed.

Domask was named First-Team All-Big Ten in his only season with Illinois. He averaged 15.9 points and 5 rebounds per game. Domask also recorded a rare triple-double in the NCAA Tournament.

The NCAA denied him an extra year of eligibility this spring.

Teammate Terrence Shannon Jr. was drafted by the Timberwolves in Wednesday’s first round, while Quincy Guerrier signed an Exhibit-10 deal with the Raptors.

Marcus Domask will have his shot at making it in the NBA.

Following the 2024 Draft where he went undrafted, as anticipated, the former standout from Illinois, Marcus Domask, secured an Exhibit-10 contract with the Chicago Bulls.

An Exhibit-10 contract is a tool NBA teams use to invite players to compete in training camp, offering them a chance to earn a spot on the team roster. This type of contract is not guaranteed, but it provides an opportunity for players to showcase their skills.

During his sole season with Illinois, Domask achieved recognition as a First-Team All-Big Ten player. His contributions included averaging 15.9 points and 5 rebounds per game, and he notably achieved a rare triple-double during the NCAA Tournament.

Despite seeking an additional year of eligibility from the NCAA this spring, Domask’s request was denied.

Meanwhile, Domask’s teammate Terrence Shannon Jr. was selected in the first round of the draft by the Timberwolves, while another teammate, Quincy Guerrier, similarly signed an Exhibit-10 contract with the Raptors.
