Magic Johnson different business ventures
Contrary to the route Michael Jordan took of creating his own brands and owning sports franchises, Magic Johnson took a different route towards becoming the wealthiest billionaire in NBA history. Magic decided to get his hands in as many sports franchises as possibls that includes the NWSL Washington Spirit, a stake in the NFL Washington Commanders, an eSports Franchise called Team Liquid, and inestments in another three teams. Johnson currently has a stake in the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, he co-owns the MLS’ Los Angeles FC, and he also co-owns the MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers.
Last year, Johnson became the fourth athlete to hit the billionaires list and joined the likes of Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James. Currently, Michael Jordan’s estimated net worth just surpasses $3 million while Magic’s recent uptick in business ventures is estimated to elevate his net-worth to at least $3.5 billion oer the next few years. It’s not much but Magic Johnson might even surpass Michael Jordan over the next five years by much more than he does today.
