Jeremiah Smith Becomes the 10th Ohio State Receiver to Surpass 1,000 Receiving Yards in a Single Season

Jeremiah Smith added another note to his record-breaking freshman season with the Buckeyes.

Smith surpassed the 1,000-yard mark with his fourth catch in Ohio State’s 13th game of the season against Tennessee, becoming the 10th Buckeye to accomplish that feat.

Before 2021, Ohio State had five receivers top 1,000 receiving yards in a single season: Cris Carter (1986), Terry Glenn (1995), David Boston (1998), Michael Jenkins (2002) and Parris Campbell (2018). Now that Smith has reached 1,000 yards, the Buckeyes have had the same number of receivers reach that mark in the past four seasons, including Jaxon Smith-Njigba (2021), Garrett Wilson (2021), Emeka Egbuka (2022) and Marvin Harrison Jr. (2022 and 2023
