B.C. Lions list QB Vernon Adams Jr. as questionable vs. Edmonton Elks
The B.C. Lions have listed star quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. as questionable for Thursday’s game against the Edmonton Elks after he missed practice on Tuesday due to an abdominal injury.
The 31-year-old native of Pasadena, Calif. has completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 1,038 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception through three games this season, leading his team to a 2-1 start. He has also rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown.
Adams Jr. sat out for two games near the midway point of last season but has otherwise been healthy during his tenure with the Lions, which started after he was acquired via trade from the Montreal Alouettes in 2022.
In total, the five-foot-eleven, 200-pound passer has thrown for 14,299 yards, 86 touchdowns, and 46 interceptions over 102 career CFL games.
Canadian receiver Jevon Cottoy, who missed last week’s game due to a hamstring injury, is available to return after being a full participant in practice this week, while linebacker Ben Hladik has been listed as questionable due to a thumb injury.
The B.C. Lions (2-1) will host the Edmonton Elks (0-3) on Thursday, June 27 with kickoff slated for 10:00 p.m. EDT.
