Just Inn:Ryan Day Trending After Lou Holtz’s Prediction for Ohio State-……Read More

On Friday night while Notre Dame and Indiana were playing in the first ever game of the expanded College Football Playoff, former coach and longtime analyst Lou Holtz was busy making his return to analyst ranks.

Holtz revealed his picks for the first round of the College Football Playoff, picking Notre Dame, Penn State and Texas to all win at home against Indiana, SMU and Clemson respectively. He picked the favorites in every game until it was time to pick Ohio State-Tennessee.
“Tennessee is a good football team. They play better on some days than others, as all teams do,” he said. “However they haven’t beat a top-ranked team since 2006 on the road. I think Ohio State is going to be so focused after losing to Michigan that should do two things, hurt Ohio State’s confidence, but motivate them to go all the way.”
“…Ohio State is a good football team but they don’t run the ball well enough to be a great football team. I think this will be an excellent game and I think Tennessee has an excellent chance to upset Ohio State because Ohio State will rely on the pass and Tennessee’s outstanding on the run defense.”

Immediately after his prediction, fans rushed to social media to say something about Ryan Day, who had beef with Holtz in the past.

“Ryan Day punching air,” one fan said.

“Ryan Day absolutely has this tweet bookmarked,” joked another.

“Do not let Ryan Day see this,” offered a third.

“Ryan day is fuming rn,” said another.

Ohio State is a 7.5-point favorite headed into the game at Ohio Stadium on Saturday night. The Buckeyes and Volunteers kick off at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC and ESPN.
