Team USA sparked considerable controversy by omitting Indiana Fever standout Caitlin Clark from their roster for the upcoming Paris Olympics. The decision ignited days of heated debate, with opinions split between those supporting Team USA’s rationale and others vehemently criticizing what they viewed as a significant oversight.
Lonzo Ball, the Chicago Bulls guard, took a stand on his What an Experience podcast, openly criticizing Team USA for their decision to exclude Clark.
Ball expressed disbelief, stating, “She definitely should be on the team. They’re saying she’s not better than anyone on the roster. In the past, there have been guys on Team USA who weren’t necessarily the best in the league, but they contributed effectively to the team. If you look at the history of USA teams, the men’s teams didn’t always have the absolute top 12 players. Caitlin Clark deserved a spot on the team. Let’s be honest about it.”
