Netflix Drops Release Date, Trailer for New College Football Show
Netflix has made a major announcement about its upcoming series that follows SEC college football.
Netflix announced on Monday that its newest sports series, SEC Football: Any Given Saturday, will debut on Tuesday, Aug. 5, and dropped the trailer for it.
“Witness the unparalleled pressure, commitment, and raw emotion it takes to be a D1 football player in college football’s leading conference,” the streaming service wrote in its announcement.
The eight-episode series was filmed throughout the 2024 college football season. The trailer includes appearances by Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, LSU linebacker Whit Weeks, Florida quarterback DJ Lagway, LSU head coach Brian Kelly and ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum.
While Netflix has not revealed which teams exactly will be featured in the show, The Athletic’s Seth Emerson reported in December that Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt all took part.
“This behind-the-scenes docuseries will bring all the drama and pageantry of Southeastern Conference Football to a worldwide Netflix audience,” said SEC commissioner Greg Sankey.

In recent years, Netflix has released multiple popular NFL series, including Quarterback and Receiver, with the former seeing a second season drop earlier this month.
College football fans are likely to be all over this series featuring the SEC, which is widely considered the best conference in college football.
