With the offseason activities wrapped up and Rams Training Camp set to begin on July 23, the focus now shifts forward. Ahead of training camp, theRams.com will feature profiles on several newcomers to the team. Next in line is defensive back Tre’Davious White, highlighting his addition to the Rams’ roster.
How He Got Here: After being released by the Bills, White signed a 1-year deal with the Rams on April 9.
What’s Next: Continuing the rehab program for his torn Achilles. White sustained the injury in Week 4 of last year and was working off to the side with trainers for the majority of OTAs before participating in the walkthrough in the final week of it. His participation level in training camp is still to be determined, based on head coach Sean McVay’s comments during minicamp.
Bet You Didn’t Know: White’s 18 career interceptions are tied for 11th-most among active cornerbacks, per Pro Football Reference.
Quotable: “He’s making good progress. He was able to partake in the walkthrough. It’s obviously a significant injury that he’s overcome. He’s gotten a lot of good stuff done on the side. You could see he’s really locked in and engaged in the meeting setting. As far as what his actual process will be in training camp, we’ll see where he’s at. He does such a great job, understands his body, and so I don’t think we want to pigeonhole ourselves into one approach. Alright, how’s he feeling? What does it look like relative to when (Head Team Physician) Neal ElAttrache checks up on him and what’s going to be the best thing for him, not only for hopefully being ready to go for the opener, but for the totality of the season.” – McVay on June 11, on White’s status
