The trading card industry has long been a competitive space, with athletes from various sports vying for top spots in sales.

However, the latest WNBA trading card release has shifted the balance, with Caitlin Clark leading the charge in a market that’s seeing remarkable growth.

Catilin Clark dominates trading card industry

Panini’s February launch of the 2024 Prizm WNBA set has broken records, with prices soaring to new heights and Clark’scards at the center of this surge.

Clark, a standout rookie for the Indiana Fever and the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, has captured the attention of collectors worldwide.

Her trading cards have outsold the combined total of the next nine athletes on the list, a remarkable feat that highlights her prominence in the market.

As of now, Clark’s cards have sold over 2,100 copies, nearly doubling the sales of second-place Cameron Brink and third-place Angel Reese.

Despite Reese’s own success in the market, including a high-profile sale of her Gold Vinyl 1/1 card for $100,000, Clark’svalue remains unmatched.

Her record-breaking Panini Select WNBA Gold Vinyl autograph rookie card fetched an astounding $234,850 at auction in December, setting a new bar for women’s sports collectibles.

This far outpaces the value of Reese’scards, and even as Reese’s rookie card gained attention, Clark’s continued dominance is clear.

Beyond the trading card market, Clark’spopularity is also evident in her sponsorships.

She has signed multi-million-dollar endorsement deals with Nike, Gatorade, and other major brands, and her jersey sales have outpaced entire NFL teams.

In fact, Clark sold more Fever jerseys in one day than the Dallas Cowboys sold in an entire year.

As the WNBA continues to grow, Caitlin Clark’s presence in the trading card world is undeniable.
