Minnesota Timberwolves guardAnthony Edwards has been fined $35,000 by the NBA for failing to leave the court promptly and throwing a ball into the stands after being ejected from a game.

This latest fine brings Edwards’ season total to $320,000, accumulated from various offences, including inappropriate language during media interviews and an obscene gesture during a game.

On Thursday, Edwards was ejected during the Timberwolves’ loss to the Los Angeles Lakers after receiving his second technical foul for arguing with a referee. Earlier in the game, he and Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt were issued technical fouls following a physical altercation.

These two technical fouls pushed Edwards’ season total to 16, triggering an automatic one-game suspension, which he served during Minnesota’s loss to the Utah Jazz on Friday.

The NBA’s rules stipulate that every two additional technical fouls will result in increased suspensions.

“He’s got to be better,” Timberwolves coach Chris Finch stated earlier

better, and we’ve been talking to him about it. So it’s on him.”
