Pope Francis is showing signs of improvement, according to the Vatican. After spending 13 nights at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, the 88-year-old pontiff’s condition is “improving,” although it remains critical due to his complex medical situation.¹
The Vatican reported that Pope Francis spent a peaceful night at the hospital and is “in good spirits.” He continues to receive supplemental oxygen and is being monitored for mild early-stage kidney insufficiency, which is currently under control.
Pope Francis has also been able to participate in some work activities and received the Eucharist on Monday morning. He even called the parish priest in Gaza to express his solidarity.
Meanwhile, prayer initiatives for the pope’s recovery continue worldwide. Cardinals are leading a nightly rosary in St. Peter’s Square, which is broadcast live on EWTN television channels and digital platforms.
The Vatican has canceled the jubilee audience planned for Saturday, March 1, due to the pope’s continued hospitalization.
