The Ohio State football team has had issues beating Michigan under Ryan Day. It is the biggest flaw left on his resume after winning the national championship this past season. He has lost to them for each of the last four seasons, which is not acceptable.
Winning the national title should give Day a lot of confidence that he can break that pattern of play. He is confident that the Buckeyes can end that losing streak in 2025. Even if the Ohio State Buckeyes lost to TTUN last season, they can still talk smack because they are the defending national champions.
Despite the fact that Ohio State won the national championship, that hasn’t stopped Michigan fans and players from talking smack. In fact, one TTUN player threw shade at both Ohio State and Alabama despite the fact that Michigan lost six games last season.
TTUN player talks smack against the Ohio State football team
Edge player Dominic Nichols decided to throw some shade toward the Buckeyes while Spring practice is going on ahead of the 2025 season.
“We went from whooping Ohio State to whooping Alabama. You roll into spring ball with that, and you go in feeling confident about yourself” – EDGE Dominic Nichols
Nichols better be careful with his words. While Michigan has had Ohio State’s number for the last few years, that very well could change this season. Even though Ohio State loses a lot of talent from their national championship season, they still have plenty of guys who return from that team, too.
That team went on the greatest four-game run in college football history, beating Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame to win it all. Those wins should give Ohio State a lot of confidence coming into this year, too. Perhaps Nichols should be careful with his words.
Until Day proves that he can beat TTUN with his own players, TTUN is going to keep talking trash. Quite frankly, they should. But doing it after a season in which the Buckeyes won the national championship probably isn’t very smart.
