SHOCKING QUESTION : IS LAS VEGAS ACES ROOKIE KATE MARTIN GOING…….?

Matt Martin, the father of Las Vegas Aces rookie Kate Martin, has shared an update regarding his daughter’s recent injury. The news, reported by KCCI in Des Moines, Iowa, highlighted that Kate sustained a leg injury during the Aces’ game against the Chicago Sky on Tuesday.

During the game, while attempting to advance the ball up the court, Kate appeared to injure her lower leg. She remained on the floor for a few moments before being able to head to the locker room. The incident took place in the first quarter, and Kate did not return to the game following the injury.

According to Matt, Kate has a “bruised Achilles tendon.” He noted that the timing of the injury was somewhat fortuitous, as the WNBA is about to start a month-long break for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This break will give Kate time to recover without missing too many games.

It is not yet clear if Kate will need to miss additional playing time due to the injury. With the Aces not scheduled to play again until their game against the New York Liberty on Saturday, August 17, she will have approximately a month to heal.

Kate was selected in the second round of the 2024 WNBA Draft and secured a spot on the Aces’ roster. She quickly endeared herself to fans and blended well with her teammates. When she got injured, her teammates gathered around her to offer their support.

In her rookie season, Kate has been averaging 3.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. She has participated in 23 out of the 24 games Las Vegas has played so far this season.
