WATCH OUT:As Ohio State football Spring practice starts today…….Read more
The Ohio State football team won the national championship just under two months ago after capping off the greatest four-game run in college football history. They finally slayed their demons and won a national title. It was a great finish to a season that was very tumultuous at times.
It doesn’t seem that long ago that the Buckeyes were celebrating in Atlanta after winning it all. After all of that hard work, they go back to work on Monday. Today is the first day of Spring practice, starting a couple of weeks later than they normally due for Spring practice.
This is the first time under Ryan Day that the Ohio State Buckeyes will be taking part in Spring practice as the defending national champions. That’s what makes this year’s Spring so unique. Day is doing things differently than ever before while they are on top of the college football world.
The Ohio State football team starts Spring practice today
Day has said that the team won’t have a traditional Spring Game. We still don’t know what that means for how they will cap off practice in April. There has been no official announcement for the format of the Spring Showcase. It’s unclear what that means for the fans who will be in the Shoe.
The biggest reason why Day has decided to change things up is to give his guys more rest. After playing the longest college football season in history, he wants the guys who played on last year’s championship-winning team to get enough rest so they are ready for 2025.
When Spring practice hits, it’s always exciting for the fans. With the Ohio State basketball team missing the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year, fans will only be locked on the football team this Spring. More than they normally would, anyway.
It will be interesting to see which players emerge from the Spring. There is always a Spring hero that emerges when all of the practices have concluded. With Ohio State replacing so many starters, they are hoping to have multiple guys who step up in a big way.
