Kate Martin’s Girlfriend Shares Positive Update on Her Achilles Injury While Celebrating in the Club
Kate Martin missed the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday night. Although she had a significant number of fan votes, she wasn’t selected for the team and is currently recovering from a seemingly minor injury.
Rest assured, the Las Vegas Aces’ beloved rookie is doing well!
Martin, who was the 18th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 WNBA Draft, exceeded expectations by securing a spot on the roster with an impressive performance during training camp. The 24-year-old guard quickly gained the admiration of her teammates, became a fan favorite, and played significant minutes in various games during the first half of the season.
Unfortunately, Martin’s hot streak ended during Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Sky. She fell to the floor after an awkward step in the second quarter and immediately clutched her ankle.
Thankfully, Martin’s injury is not season-ending. The upcoming four weeks of rest during the Olympic break will be crucial for her recovery.
Matt Martin recently provided an update on his daughter’s injury. What was initially feared to be a torn Achilles turned out to be a severe bruise to the tendon. He noted that the timing was “perfect,” given the month-long break.
Kate Martin is expected to make a full recovery!
Despite the injury, Martin enjoyed herself over the All-Star weekend. While some of her teammates participated in or attended the game on Saturday, she traveled to Boston to visit her girlfriend.
Last month, former Iowa classmate Claire Gransee officially announced their relationship on Instagram.
A photo of ‘Money Martin’ in the club is an encouraging sign for fans of the Las Vegas Aces and the WNBA. The league is better with her on the court, and her return appears to be on track.
